Commands for the RANGE TO PITS

COMMANDS/REQUESTS GIVEN BY SHOOTERS DURING MARKING

"The range is closed - the pits are now opened"
Those required for pit duty must proceed immediately to the pits.  Pit personnel should have eye and ear protection, and MUST HAVE A PEN for any scoring that may be required.

PIT TARGET MARKER

No spotting disk visible in target.

Order Target # ... no spotting disk visible.

Lower target, put spotting disk in last shot hole, ensure value disk corresponds with last shot and raise target.

 

 

 “NO VALUE
DISK, TARGET...”

  

PIT OFFICER

PIT TARGET MARKER

No value disk visible in target.

Order Target # ... no value disk visible.

Lower target, put value disk in to correspond with last shot and raise target.

 

 “CHALLENGE
VALUE INDICATED ON TARGET ...”

Spotting disk disagrees with signalled value or value disk not visible on target.

Order Target # ... marker to check value of last shot.

Pull target, check value of last shot, make corrections if required, ensure value disk corresponds with last shot and raise target.

FOR A HIT
TARGET ...”

PIT TARGET MARKER

A shot has be fired, but the target has not been pulled, or the last shot and value has not been indicated.

Order Target # ..., examine for a hit.

1. Pull target, check target carefully for a hit.
2. If a hit, mark as normal.
3. If no hit, patch out last shot, and signal miss value.
4. Raise target.
