Aarau 2010, Switzerland, will be the Federal Championships held ever 5 years. This event attracts shooters from all over the country numbering 7-8 THOUSAND. Also, thousands of other people gather around the host town to celebrate the freedoms and liberties of Switzerland, and the coming together of the 3 surround influential nations of Germany, France and Italy.
This shoot runs for approximately 2 weeks, and is probably the largest in the world. When the event finishes, there are parades in the streets of tens of thousands of participants and onlookers.
This will be an event not to miss.
We have a bit of time up our sleeve before we need numbers of those interested in going. However, we do have communication barriers dealing with organisers over there, so we can't leave it too late to start planning.
You will be shooting 3 positions on a 300m range using electronic targets - so no pit duty. Because of the shoot format, and electronic targets, you simply show up before you time to shoot, shoot, then go. So, instead of spending the whole day on the range, you spend a couple of hours - the rest of the time is "holidays". Aarau is approx 30 west of Zurich. So while in the area, there is no doubt there will be plenty to see, do and plenty of local's to mingle with.
